Project Name: Phone & Electronic Retailer
Project Locations: Southlake, TX
This new 8,000 square foot phone and electronic retail store in Southlake Town Square was renovated to widen the existing store and remove interior columns. The existing tilt wall building roof structure was too low to allow the knife edge forward canopy roof to properly project to create the effect the architect and owner desired. AUE removed the first bay of framing and reframed the roof with tapered steel beams as a free spanning system to create the new storefront. In addition, AUE designed the expansive glass storefront and door portal for the new entry. A building addition was also designed at the side for back of house function. Last, a new lateral system consisting of narrow braced frames was added to the sides of the storefront to support the new large opening. Other service included wall studs to support stone panels interior and exterior and a large free standing video wall at the back of the retail space.
