Swedish Medical Center – DJC 2011 Building of the Year

Project Name: Swedish Medical Center
Project Location: Issaquah, WA

While AUE was not the engineer of record, our work on the Swedish Issaquah Medical Center drew on many of the services we offer to our clients. During construction AUE provided the design and shop drawings for the prefabricated exterior light gauge framing panels. These panels, having been assembled off-site and then installed, ultimately shaved 3 months off the construction schedule compared to traditional metal stud framing. Once the main body of the hospital was constructed, AUE was then called on to engineer the handrail and railings on the numerous balconies and stairs. AUE’s work was not done there. To finish out our work on the Swedish Issaquah project, we gave engineering support to decorative elements on the campus. These elements included stone walls and the metal “grass blades” that line the sides of the building in several locations.
