Primark Flagship Stores

Project Locations: New England, USA

AUE provided structural design services for Primark’s first three US based stores, converting existing multi- level department stores into Flagship locations in Danbury Connecticut, Freehold New Jersey, and Willow Grove Pennsylvania. Of the many services provided each location required new storefront designs, floor reinforcement to support the weight of safes and balers as well as roof reinforcement to support the additional RTU units required by the client. In addition to the roof reinforcement, mechanical dunnage systems were designed to raise the units above the roof systems, though the design was only implemented on two of the locations. To rejuvenate the floor plans each location new wall openings and infills were designed. The structural design was completed from our New York office which provided high availability for on demand site visits during construction as unknown existing conditions were revealed during demolition and construction. The flagship stores opened in the Summer of 2016.
